Description
MT9M001 – 1.3 MP Camera Module:
The MT9M001 – 1.3 MP Camera Module is based on the MT9M001 monochrome sensor (B0159) and color sensor (B0160) from Aptiva. The sensor has a 1/2.0″ optical format, which combined with the pixel size of 5.2 µm x 5.2 µm, results in the 1.3 MP 1280 x 1024 SXGA image. This is a rolling shutter sensor, which captures an entire column (or row) simultaneously, and compiles the image by scanning across (or down).
IR Filter:
The color and monochrome sensors do not have an IR-cut filter, so the lens choice determines the suitability of the camera for IR photography.
Lens Mounts:
The bundled camera modules include the M12 LS-6020 lens (IR or NoIR) / mount, or simply a 13 mm plastic M12 mount without a lens. Also see the MT9Mxxx – 1.3 MP Camera Sensor on Adapter Board and the MT9M001 – 1.3 MP Camera Sensor.
The key benefit of the standard lens mounts available with this module is the simplicity in swapping the lens – fisheye, wide-angle, telephoto, zoom, IR or NoIR filter – all of which are available from DLSCorp. Click on the Camera Lenses product category for the complete selection of ArduCAM lenses. Be sure to verify the compatible lens mount height must include 13 mm for each lens selected. Click on the Camera Lens Mounts product category for information about lens mounts, including compatibility with the various lenses.
Note: the MT9Mxxx – 1.3 MP Camera Sensor on Adapter Board uses a 22 mm pitch lens mount, which is only available with 13 mm height plastic mount.
Camera Shields:
In the Arduino world, a “shield” is a piggy-back circuit board that provides additional functionality to the development board. In this context, a camera shield provides the required interface from the camera module to your computer. You may choose to create your own custom-built hardware interface via the 22-pin 0.1″ pitch connector. Or, you may purchase one of the available ArduCAM camera shields.
The ArduCAM USB Camera Shield provides you a USB connection to a Windows, x86 Linux, Nvidia Jetson, or Raspberry Pi computer for these camera modules.
You may use the ArduCAM F Shield Rev V2 or the ArduCAM LF Shield Rev V2 to connect to Arduino system boards. Open-source software and binaries are provided on the ArduCAM GitHub site (see link below) for these shields.
